Best Low Carb Diet Menu
It is very important for one to prepare themselves to intake low carb meal. You will definetely avoid the fast food route track and avoid junk food if you are well prepared. In fact, if you write out your meals for each day, you will be more than ready for the best low carb diet menu possible.
The most important meal of the day is breakfast. Skipping breakfast leads to a junk food attack later in the morning. You will feel fresher and more awake after a high protein, low carb breakfast. I ran into an interesting recipe for an omelet a few days ago while watching the Paula Deen show on the Food Network. Not only is the omelet great tasting but it is so easy, you can cook it while you are getting dressed. Also, you don’t have to use butter for your pan. In a small freezer bag, place the veggies you would like in your omelet. You can easily use whatever veggies you had from the night before. If you cut the veggies into little pieces and put them in the freezer bad the night before, your breakfast will take only a few minutes. After placing the veggies in the bag, break two eggs into a bowl, add one tablespoon water, and then beat. If you have an immersion blender, this could take a minute. Then poor the eggs into the freezer bag, close the bag tightly, and then squish the ingredients together to get everything mixed up. If you want you might have added some low fat cheese, salt and pepper to the mixture. The omelet recipe is yours to do with as you like. Then put the freezer bag into boiling water for five to eight minutes, take out with tongs, and let drain a minute. Then slide your omelet on a plate with some fresh fruit and you have a great start to your day.
Next of course is lunch. Always be prepared or you will eat from the snack machine or go out and blow your diet. If you must eat out, have your low carb meal already planned out. Most any restaurant will fix your meal the low carb way if you ask. Wraps, salads, or even some sandwiches will not throw you off the low carb train. Just be careful about too much salad dressing or the type bread you choose. Always choose whole grain bread. If fries come along with the dinner, ask if you can have a small salad or some fruit instead. If they don’t cooperate, find another dining spot and tell the manager why. If you can brown bag, there are many options. Leftovers from the night before are great. Also, when really pressed for time, you can choose from the many low carb diet dinners on the market. Before you buy, check the label. Light doesn’t always mean low carb. Subtract the number of fiber grams from the number of carbs and if the number seems too high, move on.
Dinner should always be planned. If not you might be tempted by all of the take out places you pass on the way home. If most of your dinner is already ready, you will be less tempted. A platter of fresh vegetables and a big dish of assorted fruits are the hurried cooks’ best friend. You can prepare your own or buy them already prepared from the grocer. Add some lean chicken, beef, or seafood and you have a great meal.
Being prepared will help you to have the best low carb diet menu possible. Having the menu ready also puts pressure on you to keep your diet. After your menu planning becomes a habit, you will not only lose weight, you will keep it off. I am not saying that the menu planning doesn’t take time, but the work will make all the difference in the world to your diet. Happy menu planning.
